Israel has a fun story how he got started jamming with Midwest Worship. In Dec 2024 Midwest Worship was doing an event with Sparta Center Church in Sparta, MI called INVASION. His dad Chris Burman was helping out in the tech booth for the event and started talking with Kyle Warmington about his son Israel that he sings and loves to lead worship at their church with the youth. So Kyle decided on the last couple slam jam songs of the setlist on Sat night he would invite Israel up to join the band. Kyle got that point on Saturday and said on mic “so we hear that Israel is a pretty good singer here at Sparta Center?!” The students all cheered in support. He was invited on stage, handed a mic and jammed for the last couple of songs with the band. He did a great job and they invited him to sing again the next morning for the Sunday morning worship service at the church.
Since then Israel has joined them for multiple events and is developing into a very good, young worship leader. He now holds the title of Youth Worship Director at Sparta Center Church and leads worship regularly with the youth group. He is a wonderful young man and we are excited to have him on the team!
Even though Israel is struggling with his own things, he still chooses to sing for the Lord, for His purpose and plan. He feels that Jason Gray says it well, “There is life in the light of what the hard times taught me.”
